The 3XV is a stacked coil humkiller design with the same tonal quality as the original 3X pickups but without the hum and noise. This exact replacement with extended low and high frequency response yields a warm, brilliant tone with less upper midrange emphasis than stock Strat pickups. The output level is slightly lower than that of a stock Telecaster neck pickup, so we often recommend using them with an on-board preamp such as the TC3.
