The Gretsch Custom Shop has produced 50 units of this guitar completely handcrafted, it’s the recreation of one of the most famous rock ‘n’ roll and rockabilly guitars, a modified Gretsch 6120 owned by Eddie Cochran(1938-1960), was the only electric guitar that had and played in his entire career.

Eddie Cochran bought his electric guitar in 1955 with 16 years, a Gretsch 6120 Chet Atkins hollow-body Orange acquired in the Gardens Music Center of Bell Gardens, CA. Later hits like Summertime Blues, Twenty Flight Rock, C ‘mon Everybody, Somethin’ Else, Nervous Breakdown and Sittin’ or the Balcony were created and played with this guitar, songs that would influence a whole generation of guitarists.

The meticulous recreation of this guitar work has been carried out by the luthier of the Gretsch Custom Shop Stephen Stern, examining in depth the original guitar, which is located in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland.

At first glance, they say that the guitar is identical to the original, the Gretsch Custom Shop G6120EC Eddie Cochran Tribute has every detail, from its fingerboard and bridge of aluminium to its mast “dog ear” pill, silver hardware and vibrato BigsbyB6GPVF. The tuners are vintage style GotohSE700 – 05M, kicker modified of plexi, western block inlays and Pearl logo on the headstock.
