The ’57 Twin, harmonic-rich clean sound is perfect for vintage rock, blues, and country; turn up the volume and you get a smooth and sophisticated overdrive.
Completely hand-wired, reproduction of the original 1955-57 “low powered” 5E8A, developing 40 watts on two 12″ alnico speakers. Power is developed by a pair of GT6L6 power amps and a half tube rectification circuit (with 5U4 rectifiers.) Thanks to this design, the compression of the high volume power amp is much smoother than in other Fender tweed amps. The Twin’s preamp has four 12AX7 high-gain preamp tubes, three of which can be replaced with 12AY7s to recreate the original 1950s low-gain sound A bias pot allows easy tailoring of different 6L6 types Control panel includes volumes for normal and bright channels, four inputs (2 normal; 2 bright), treble, bass and presence potentiometers.
The ’57 Twin’s pine cabinet was hand-assembled from wood for a warm, powerful sound. The finish is lacquered and the grille is vintage brown/gold. Leather handle and original cover
