SOLD GIBSON 1969 BYRDLAND

1969 Gibson BYRDLAND Sunburst

Named after and originally designed for ace Nashville session men Billy Byrd and Hank Garland, the Byrdland is essentially a thin-line (2¼”), short scale (23½”) L5-CES. In other words, she’s pure hand-made Kalamazoo butta. She has a spruce top, maple neck, back and sides and five-ply binding. Her fret board is ebony with pearl block inlays and this example sports the rounded Venetian cut-away that Gibson returned to in 1969, the last year of regular production for this model. Her gold hardware shows some wear but is all original and as she retains her original hum-buckers her tone is out of this world. This example is in excellent condition with only Tun o matic changed.
